We thank all our coaches and our volunteers. We arrive a few minutes early, about 2:45 PM, to set up a registration table out front to distribute name tags and take late registrations. The custodian opens Door #12 at 2:45 PM. When you enter the gym, please walk or jog one or two laps to warm up, as we start our program at 3:00 PM sharp.

About 80 young athletes typically attend each workout, and a perfect afternoon's snack is 80 clementines / tangerines and 80 healthy granola bars.

Please bring a water bottle with your name on it. Please wear running shoes -- not tennis shoes -- comfortable shorts, and a lightweight t-shirt or sweatshirt if it's cold tomorrow.

At circle time, we introduce our coaches and do our stretching and strengthening exercises indoors. During our stretching, I shall present a brief prepared lecture on Hallowe'en and nutrition, then on November 10, the topic is physiology.

After stretching, some of the groups go outdoors if the weather is nice. Then we come back inside for throws and long jump.

At all our workouts, we welcome parents to run with their young athletes. Think of it as Suzuki running!

We look forward to coaching your young athletes this season. Welcome aboard!

Yes, that was me on Channel 7 on Friday at 5 PM. I shall try to find the link.

T-shirts will be ready next week, I shall ask for someone to pick them up in Springfield to bring them on November 3,

I shall miss practice on November 3 - New York City Marathon beckons.
