Thank you for joining Potomac Valley Track Club's Young Flyers youth track & field program!
Today's workout will be that hardest of the season, to prepare for
our exciting little track meet on December 8
indoor meets at TJ on January 12 (my birthday!), January 26, and February 9
indoor meets at Episcopal High School on December 21 and March 1
indoor meets at Prince George's Sportsplex on December 29, January 5, January 19, and February 1
indoor meet at Hagerstown Community College of December 27
As always, 15 minutes of stretching and strengthening first, then 75 minutes in open sessions, then 30 minutes of relays
Many parents have asked my about continuing practice after December 8.
PVTC hosts open practice everty Monday at 7 PM at Washington-Lee High School outdoor track, 1301 North Stafford Street. $5,00 donation to the coach (not always me). See www.pvtc.org/workouts
Starting Wednesday. December 11, we will meet at 6:30 PM at TJ indoor track for an informal speed workout, coaches and programs to be determined. No entry fee. We ran this informal program, last year through mid-February and graduated Rachel Wilson as a national champion
Soon, see www.pvtc.org/wednesdays but it's not updated yet
PVTC's outdoor meets start in May. See www.pvtc.org/outdoor (not updated yet)
I need a bit of assistance today. Unrelated to PVTC, I direct marathons. We had a big marathon on November 17 to fundraise for the Arlington-based charity www.teamafrica.com and also we donated $1000 to Philippine Red Cross.
I'm assembling a 400-piece post-race mailing. If you have a few minutes this afternoon during practice, I'd be very grateful for help stuffing and stamping envelopes for the marathon. I'll bring t-shirt for my volunteers.
We have a few PVTC Young Flyers t-shirts remaining.
See you in 3 hours!
