Events and Entry Fees
  • 800m/1500m/3000m racewalks. 55m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1 mile, 3000m, and 5000m, plus free race walk & shot put clinics
  • $3.00 per meet for high school students ($8 for all 3 meets before December 25)
  • $4.00 per meet for PVTC members ($11 for all 3 meets before December 25)
  • $5.00 per meet for all others ($14 for all 3 meets before December 25)
  • Students up to 8th grade may enter free using this form
Schedule
  •   7:00 AM:  Doors Open - Please do not enter before 7:00 AM
  •   7:45 AM:  800m, 1500m & 3000m Race Walk - One heat, followed by race walk clinic for young athletes
  •   8:15 AM:  55m Run - Heats by age group and gender
  •   9:00 AM:  1-Mile Run - 3 heats >6:30, <6:30, <5:30 (approximately)
  •   9:50 AM:  200m Run - Heats by age group and gender
  • 10:20 AM:  400m Run - Heats by age group and gender
  • 11:00 AM:  800m Run - Heats by age group and gender
  • 11:30 AM: 3000m Run (15 laps) & 5000m Run (25 laps) One heat

  •   8:15 AM:  Race Walk clinic
  •   9:15 AM:  Shot put clinic
Procedures
  • Please listen for the calls for your event(s)
  • We issue calls for each event about 10 minutes before the event begins
  • "First call" means begin forming groups by age & gender
  • "Second call"means first heat is about to start
  • "Final call" means last heat is about to start
  • Note: We record individual times only in the race walks, 1-mile, 3000-meter, and 5000-meter, but not in the shorter events

Track
  • Fast soft urethane four-lane 200-meter indoor track · 8+ laps to the mile, 25-meter turn radius.
  • If you use starting blocks for 55-meter, please bring your own
  • No Spikes: NOT METAL, NOT PLASTIC, NOT CERAMIC
  • No food allowed in the gym
  • Directions: From DC or Capital Beltway (I-495), take Arlington Blvd (Route 50) to Glebe Road (Route 120) southbound to 2nd Street South. At the 7-11, turn left (east). TJ is on your left
  • Parking is free. Enter through Door #12
  • Or from Route 50, turn south on Irving Street and right (west) onto 2nd Street South
  • Or from I-395, take Glebe Road (Route 120) northbound 3 miles to 2nd Street South, then turn right to TJ

    Indoor tracks in DC Area
    • Prince George's Sports and Learning Center, open to the public free 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, 200-meter oval
    • Thomas Jefferson Community Center, open to the public, $8 for Arlington residents; $16 for others, 200-meter flat oval
    • Episcopal High School, open odd hours, 200-meter oval banked track
    • Georgetown University Yates Field House, formerly $5 per visit with GU host, maybe more now, 176-meter oval
    • George Mason University Field House, closed to the public, except on special occasions, 200-meter oval
    • Some private gyms have 10-lap-per-mile indoor tracks
